All Valdani hand-dyed thread is 100% colorfast and is available in 500 meter spools. Thread is from Romania. European weight is 35, American Weight is 24.
Valdani thread is a softer thread than King Tut 40/3 or DMC size 80. It is slightly bigger than King Tut and fuzzier. Tatters who tat tightly need to close rings gently. The picture below shows King Tut 40/3 thread, color 915; Valdani 35wt color M33; and DMC tatting thread size 80, color 107. Models are shown actual size. The tatted model is Star #1, page 39 of Tatting Patterns and Designs by Gun Blomqvist and Elwy Persson.
