DS9Designs Tatting and Beads
Big Dragonfly Pattern
Updated 01/20/03
Yep! Sherry and I tried to catch these big guys when we were growing up. They used to show up in groups each summer. They were real quick, so we didn't catch that many. The smaller blue dragonflies down by the river were much easier to catch!
When tatted with size 20 thread, the dragonfly's wing span is about 3 1/4" and body length is about 2".
Techniques used: self-closing mock ring, rings off of chains (floating rings), slope and roll join, inverted tatting (chain is bent back upon and joined to itself.
Requires 2 shuttles and 2 beads for eyes. 4 mm miracle beads provide a nice "buggy" look!
Pattern Price: $2.50
