| Angel 5 with 6mm heart bead |
Angel 5 with 5x7mm teardrop bead and optional seed beads |
I had the basics of this pattern designed a couple years ago. When I started stocking 6mm heart beads and 5x7mm fire polished facetted teardrops for my beading customers, I wondered how I could incorporate these beads into tatting. 2 weeks ago I pulled out my unpublished angel patterns and found one in which I could add my new beads. After a week of playing with stitch counts, here it is! When tatted with size 50 thread, the angel measures about 1 1/8" high and about 1" wide.
Note: This pattern contains written instructions for shuttle AND needle tatters as well as visual diagrams.
Techniques used: Simple rings and chains. 2 beading techniques.
Materials needed: 1 shuttle or 1 needle. 3 yards of size 50 thread. One 5x14mm angel wing bead, one 6mm heart bead OR one 5x7mm facetted teardrop bead. Optional--15 seed beads. You will also need a fine crochet hook (size 14 or finer) where the heart bead can slide over the shank of the crochet hook.
Pattern Price: $2.50
